Due to the differences between vintage and modern sizing, and considering you may want to tailor your gown, we've developed our own sizing system to help you find dresses within your range.

To find your size category, measure a well-fitting item from your wardrobe (with little to no stretch) and match the measurement to the closest category.

PLEASE NOTE
All measurements refer to the gown's measurements taken
while laying flat from one side to the other.

Lay your garment flat and pull it evenly from the side seams (or to its widest point if there are no side seams). Measure across from one side to the other in centimeters, usually at the bottom edge of the arm holes ensuring there are no creases that could affect the measurement.

Waist

Measure at the gown's narrowest point around the middle of the torso. Smooth out any creases and pull the fabric evenly before measuring across the waist from one side to the other in centimeters.

Hip

Hip measurements are provided only for form-fitting dresses. Measure across the widest part of the gown, just below the waist. For ballgown or fuller skirt styles, hip measurements are generally not required, as the fit accommodates a range of sizes.

Length

All length measurements are taken from the highest point of the dress down to the lowest point at the front.

  • For strapless dresses, the measurement is taken from the top centre of the dress straight down the front.

  • For dresses with straps (one or two), the measurement is taken from the top of the strap(s) straight down.

  • For high-neck dresses, the measurement is taken from the top of the neckline straight down.

The train length is measured from where the dress starts to flare (at the hem) to the end of the train.
